The Open Wound: Dark Mafia Romance (Wounds That Run Deep Book 2)

MARGARITA

I wake in chains with Damon nowhere in sight.

His enemies think kidnapping me will make him surrender. They think a surgeon is easy to frighten. Easy to break. Easy to trade for the secrets of his empire.

They have no idea what Damon has awakened in me.

The woman he first dragged into his world would have searched for an escape. Now I search for weaknesses. I know exactly where to cut, how long a man can bleed, and what happens when fear becomes something darker.

When Damon finally comes for me, I should be horrified by the destruction he leaves behind.

Instead, I want to stand beside him.

Because somewhere between captivity and obsession, his violence stopped feeling like a prison.

It started feeling like home.

DAMON

They took Margarita from me.

There will be no negotiation.

No mercy.

No man involved gets to keep breathing.

I tear through everything between us until she is back where she belongs, but the woman I recover isn't the doctor I stole from that underground clinic. There is blood on her hands now. Hunger in her eyes. And when I give her a weapon, she doesn't hesitate.

I should want to protect what innocence she has left.

I don't.

I want to watch her lose it.

Margarita was supposed to be the one thing in my world untouched by its filth. Instead, she is becoming something far more beautiful.

Something made for me.
