Unholy Devil: Dark Mafia Romance (Unholy Sins Book 2)

ASHLEY

Two years ago my little brother came to New Orleans to fight for money. He came home in a box.

The file says one man put him there. Knox Fontaine. Gold rings, silk shirts, a smile that could talk a nun out of her habit, and an underground fight ring he runs like a church.

So I take a new name, put on a black dress, and walk into his bar to sing.

I'm here to bury him.

He hires me after two verses. He drives me home. He asks for the one song I have never sung for anyone outside my family, as if he already knows.

Then somebody tears my apartment apart, and the devil I came to destroy moves me into his house.

I'm a federal agent. I know exactly what he is.

So why does he look at me like he's been waiting his whole life for me to walk through his door?

KNOX

I answer every call on the first ring. Every hour. Every holiday.

I have my reasons, and they're locked in a drawer beside my bed.

The new singer in my bar has copper hair, a voice like a bar at closing time, and a badge she thinks I can't see. She's come to take everything I own.

I know exactly who she is. I've known since the first note.

I should send her home. Instead I give her the key to my house, the room down the hall, and every piece of me she asks for.

She wants the truth about what happened to her brother.

I'm the only man alive who has it.

And the night she hears it, I lose her.
